The Sweet Pea Changing Pad from the Brentwood Home line of products has quickly and permanently replaced the changing pad I was using before I was sent this one to try out!  This pad is much longer than the one I had been using, which is great to accommodate my growing boy.

You can order this changing pad direct from Brentwood Home or from Amazon. Both Brentwood and Amazon have a 30-day return policy for the product. However, as of this writing, it is less expensive to purchase through Brentwood Home.

Here’s Lucas on our old changing pad (turquoise) which is much shorter than the new Sweet Pea changing pad.

The changing pad features the same grey and white bubble design as the nursing pillow in the Brentwood Home baby line.  I like that it is gender neutral and will blend easily with nursery decorations.

This pad has a very soft cover that can be easily removed and washed if needed.  I have washed and dried it and noted no shrinkage or anything.  Underneath the cover is a waterproof layer that zips around the changing pad and can also be removed.

Here’s Lucas enjoying the changing pad!

One of my favorite features of this changing pad is that it is has tall sides, making it harder for the baby to wiggle out.   This retails for $50 on the company’s website, and is also available on Amazon and at Costco at the same price.  This is a great product that I use all the time!

A helpful tip is to buy some foamy shelf liner to fold up and place under the changing pad.  It has a grip of sorts so the changing pad doesn’t move around when your little one wiggles.  You’ll only need this if you have a fake changing table- on top of a dresser-  like me!

This changing pad makes a great baby shower gift. It is something that you won’t find in a Target or Walmart and will look great in your baby’s new room.

Brentwood Home Honeysuckle Nursing Pillow Review 4

Brentwood Home Honeysuckle Nursing Pillow Review

This nursing pillow from Brentwood Home is a great product.  It does what the popular Boppy pillow does not do: hold its shape to support the baby.  My guess is that a mom or two from Brentwood Home were underwhelmed with the Boppy pillow and set out to make a better version of it.  They succeeded!

  • The versatile honeysuckle nursing pillow features a stretch panel to fit all waists
  • Props and lifts your baby to a more ergonomic position, relieving your arms and back, preventing fatigue
  • Removable slipcover for simple washing
  • Made right here in our Los Angeles workshops

  • Meets and exceeds federal flammability and CPSC standards
  • Completely nontoxic and free of phthalates and heavy metals

Technical Specs

  • Pillow Dimensions: 20” L 17” W x 7” H
  • Pillow Weight: 2 lbs

Here’s the cool box the pillow comes in, and from this angle you can get an idea of the size of it!

The Honeysuckle nursing pillow features a soft grey and white bubble design which is gender neutral and coordinates with their changing pad as well.  I love that it’s an easy way to tie your baby items together!  The pillow is made of a wonderfully soft cotton & like all Brentwood Home products, it is manufactured right here in the U.S.A.  The cotton cover also can zip on and off easily for washing when needed, since babies are a messy business!

Here’s a close up picture of the grey and white bubble design.

Another use of this pillow is to prop up infants.  They can work on tummy time and building neck strength using the pillow as a bolster, or they can just be propped up in it and take in the sights around them!

Here’s Lucas showing off how a baby can sit up using this pillow! Of course, he’s a little big for this, but he posed so nicely!

I shared this nursing pillow with a friend who also tried this out for nursing and she said that she really liked it as well.  She also mentioned that its competitor gets smooshed down so easily that it wasn’t a good support for nursing.  This pillow holds the baby’s weight better and allows for easier nursing without using mom’s arm strength very much at all.

The $50 price tag is a very fair one, considering the quality of the item, and that it will definitely hold up through multiple babies.  It is worth the investment!  Note: the nursing pillow sells on Brentwood Home’s website for $50, but on Amazon for $67.44 and free shipping.  As always Brentwood home makes all their products including this nursing pillow in their own factory in Los Angeles.

This nursing pillow would make a great gift for a first time mom or an experienced mom since it is far superior to its competition and looks great!

I am very excited to share my thoughts and findings on all three of the Brentwood Home beds for infants and toddlers.  It was a unique opportunity to compare and contrast all of these, especially when my test subject is one year old!  Across the board, these are high-quality products I would be happy to give or receive as a baby gift.

Crib Mattress
Lucas is excited to sleep on the Dandelion mattress by Brentwood Home!

First of all, I like that each mattress is made in the U.S.A. and that the company is focused on the environmental impacts of their products.  All three of the crib beds are environmentally friendly, are free of chemical fire retardants, and feature a waterproof cover on both sides.  They will also last for years, so they are a good investment to pass along for subsequent babies in a family to use.

Here’s Lucas showing off the Poppy (left) and Wildfern (right). You can see they are the same thickness.

If you want a cross of eco-friendly, cost-effective, health-conscious, and comfort, I would recommend the Poppy mattress.  The Poppy mattress sells for $130, making this the most affordable of the three that I reviewed.  It is made of hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial materials, so it is aimed at all of us health-conscious parents out there.  It does feature an infant side and a toddler side of the mattress, but when feeling and smooshing both sides, they really feel about the same.  The Poppy mattress comes rolled up tightly in a box, and quickly expands to its size.  I like that there isn’t too much sound when I moved around on the mattress; the top layer doesn’t make much noise at all.  This is the softest among the three I reviewed.

Here I am unboxing the Dandelion and Wildfern mattress

If getting a very “green” mattress is the most important thing to you, Brentwood Home markets their Dandelion crib mattress as the most eco-friendly mattress that you can find, so that would make it easy for you to pick.  With a price tag of $235, it is the middle of the line of this company’s offerings.  When I walked my hands over this mattress to evaluate the squishing sound it made, this mattress was definitely the loudest of the three in this company’s line.  If you have a little one who is a challenging sleeper, I think minimizing the noise that the mattress makes when he or she tosses and turns is a positive thing, so this is my least favorite of the three.  That being said, it has a minimal environmental impact and when a sheet and mattress cover are on top of the mattress, the sound wasn’t super loud.

Here I am doing a side by side comparison of the Dandelion and Poppy mattress.

The top of the line, the Wildfern, features an  organic coconut husk layer as well as an organic latex layer. This mattress sells for $325.  It is also a dual-sided mattress, with the more firm side for the infant and the more plush side for the toddler, which is the same feature that all three mattresses offer.  The difference between the infant and toddler side is most obvious with this mattress, which is a good thing!

Overall, I would recommend the Poppy mattress.  This mattress is the most affordable and I would say that my son slept equally well on all three, so the most affordable option makes the most sense to me.  I am impressed by the materials used in each mattress  As you would expect, these are very high-quality items and any new mom would appreciate any of the three of them!
