PangeaBed™ Copper Review

PangeaBed™ Copper Review 7

The Dromma Bed has been discontinued. Please check out our other mattress reviews.

Ordering and Unboxing

You can order the PangeaBed™ online.  Pangea sells for $895 for a queen . There are some distinct advantages of having copper in the mattress. Your mattress will arrive in a box to your door in about a week and comes with a 100 night trial.

Below is a video of me unboxing the Pangea Bed.

Specifications

The PangeaBed™ has the following construction as listed on the website. So far this has been my favorite latex/foam mattress. The latex gives you good support and keeps you afloat while there is enough foam so that you don’t feel like you’re fighting with the bed for comfort.

Luxury Quilted Cover

Engineered to enhance our mattresses overall cradling comfort. Designed to compliment our supportive Talalay Latex. Combines quality craftsmanship with a desirable hypoallergenic material, it’s as comfy as it looks. The 5/8″ Soft Foam within our quilted cover is CertiPUR-US® Certified

1.5” 100% Pure Talalay Latex

The ultimate cool and breathable anti-bacterial, non-allergenic bed. Sleep cooler and cleaner on a mattress that’s the perfect complement to your healthy lifestyle.

1.5” PangeaBed™ Cool Gel

You’ll feel the difference in this highly durable Phase Change Gel Infused Memory Foam. Designed to help reduce heat retention and pressure points, it limits tossing and turning while providing cool cradling comfort. Our PangeaBed™ Cool Gel is CertiPUR-US® Certified.

7” PangeaBed™ Support Foam

Our solid core high-density foam supports and contours to the sleeper’s body weight, making it the optimum base for our premium mattress. Our PangeaBed™ Support Foam is CertiPUR-US® Certified.

Findings

I slept on the PangeaBed™ for 4 weeks. It was hard to let it go but I had other mattresses to review so off it went. Both my wife and I really liked this mattress. She is sensitive to neck pain if a mattress isn’t just right and this mattress alleviated that pain. If a mattress is too soft, I will have some lower back pain but not with this mattress. My wife also a prefers a softer mattress and even though I think this is a tad on the firmer end, she was happy with the pressure relief. I think she would have preferred it a bit softer but there is of course a tradeoff.

Below is a thermal camera video that illustrated heat dissipation from the top of the from the top of the copper version of the PangeaBed™.  Copper is used to help keep you cool at night.

You aren’t going to sink much in the PangeaBed™ so if you want a mattress that will give you a pillow top feel you will want to look elsewhere. Below is a picture illustrating sink in the PangeaBed™.

Here’s how much bounce you can expect to get. Because it has a firm base and a layer of latex, the mattress will recover quickly.
Here’s another video showing the bounce in slow motion.

Conclusion

The PangeaBed™ has a lot going for it. It is a great choice for couples that want a mattress that will give them good lower back support but also provide enough pressure relief so that hips and shoulders won’t hurt.

You also get to choose having the benefit or copper. This is a well made mattress that you can jump into without bottoming out. It should support heavier people just fine.

  1. I was wondering how you would compare this to the Nest Bedding Love and Sleep Mattress? The Pangea classic version is closer in price to the L&S now that Pangeabed has that big New Years sale. I’m mainly a side sleeper and looking for that type of comfort and support.

    Thanks!

    • The Love and Sleep soft will be significantly softer than the Pangea Bed. The Pangea bed will also have better side support.

  2. I read the SS review of the PangeaBed, and ultimately ended up buying one. I love it. Your review was outstanding, as is the bed. I heartily recommend it.

  3. Wondering how you would compare this to Layla? Given that they are both copper infused, did you experience one sleeping cooler than the other? Thanks!

    • The Layla comes with 2 different firmness levels which is nice.If you prefer a firmer mattress the Pangea Bed is the way to go. If you want to go softer, I would go with the Layla.
