Oreous Pillow Review

The Oreous pillow is made with a unique material called Microloops. Microloops are tiny pieces of memory foam that are designed to conform to your head and neck, providing pressure relief and support. Microloops are also designed to be more breathable than traditional memory foam, which means that the Oreous pillow stays cool throughout the night.

The Oreous pillow is adjustable, so you can add or remove Microloops to find the perfect height and firmness for you. It is also machine-washable and dryer-safe, making it easy to keep clean.

The Oreous pillow is a good option for sleepers who are looking for a soft, supportive pillow that will stay cool throughout the night. It is also a good option for sleepers who have neck pain or who suffer from snoring.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the Oreous pillow:

Pros:

  • Soft, supportive feel
  • Breathable and cool to the touch
  • Adjustable height and firmness
  • Machine-washable and dryer-safe

Cons:

  • May be too soft for some sleepers
  • May be too firm for some sleepers
  • Can be expensive

Overall, the Oreous pillow is a good option for sleepers who are looking for a soft, supportive pillow that will stay cool throughout the night. It is also a good option for sleepers who have neck pain or who suffer from snoring. However, it is important to note that it may be too soft or too firm for some sleepers, and it can be expensive.

I was recently given an Oreous pillow for review. The Oreous Pillow is one of the hottest pillows on kickstarter right now and so far has raised $329,059 as of June 3. If you pledge $79 or more you can get in on the early bird special and receive a standard size by September 2017.

What makes this pillow so special is the micro loop technology that they use. These look like noodles and when you squeeze them the recover faster than most memory foam but slower than latex. You end up with a pillow that is resilient and gives you good pressure relief.

Ordering and Unboxing the Oreous Pillow

The Oreous pillow can be pre ordered through Kickstarter but in the future they most likely will have their own website where you can order direct. The pillow comes in a can like the one seen below.

oreous pillow can packaging

Once you pull the pillow out of the packaging it springs into shape quickly. I didn’t notice much of a smell either. That may be because the pillow isn’t completely memory foam.

According to their Kickstarter page, a standard size will retail for $129.

Here’s a video of me giving an overview of the Oreous pillow.

Construction and Specifications of the Oreous Pillow

Cover is made with 100% organic Lenpur. Lenpur is a cellulose fiber made from the branches of trees. It is a renewable resource and feels silky to the touch but soft like a cashmere.

The sides of the pillow are made with a 3D mesh band technology that gives is a nice look but also enhances breathability of the pillow.

There is an inside cover made of cotton. This holds all the fill material so that you can fully remove and wash the outer cover.

The inside of the pillow is where you will findn the micro loop technolgy. There are not exact specifications on the microloops. The company says this about them:

“Microloops are the Oreous™ patented internal technology that is made from proprietary materials and expand when compressed 10 times faster than normal memory foam and 1000 times faster than a typical feather down pillow. The technology also provides 360 degree support with the pillow ensuring ultimate comfort for the best sleep”

Oreous Pillow Findings

I found that the Oreous pillow matched my expectations given what I read on kickstarter. It is softer like a shredded memory foam pillow but recovers faster. I actually found it to be slightly more breathable and sleep cooler than most shredded memory foam pillows because the loops are big enough to create larger air pockets. The Oreous recovers faster than most shredded foam pillows as well except for the My Pillow which has a different kind of foam all together. The oreous contours as well but not as well as some of the higher end shredded foam pillows I have reviewed so that is a trade off.

Here’s a clip of how quickly the microloops expand.

Oreous Pillow Recommendations

The Oreous Pillow is more evolutionary than revolutionary. It is great for people that want quicker recovery than what a typical memory foam pillow can offer but still want some of the benefits that only memory foam can provide such as superior contouring and pressure relief. I have been sleeping on my Oreous for a weekd and find that it holds its shape well and sleeps cool.

Oreous Pillow Complaints

The Oreous pillow has had some controversies surrounding it. The most common complaint is that it is too soft, and that it doesn’t provide enough support for the head and neck. This can lead to neck pain and discomfort for some sleepers.

Another complaint is that the Oreous pillow can be too warm, especially in the summer months. This is because the pillow is made with memory foam, which is known for retaining heat.

Some sleepers have also complained that the Oreous pillow is too expensive. The pillow costs around $200, which is more than some other high-end pillows on the market.

Despite these controversies, the Oreous pillow is still popular among some sleepers. Some people appreciate the pillow’s soft feel and the fact that it is adjustable. Others find that the pillow helps to relieve neck pain and snoring.

  1. I’m intrigued by shredded pillows but am concerned of the toxicity in standard memory foam, which is why I purchased a shredded latex pillow. However, I’m finding it too firm for my liking. Are these micro loops manufactured with the same chemicals as most standard memory foam products?.

  2. You may wish to take a closer look at the Kickstarter web page, specifically the comments. The developer has decided to increase the price of shipping – more than double in some cases – claiming he miscalculated the cost. You don’t need to imagine the outrage of his backers, from whom he is trying to levy the additional funds to fix his mistake. The demands for refunds are loud and clear and the developer has not publicly responded to any comment or request for information. I would be very, very wary of putting down money for one of these without knowing whether or not it’s actually going to be delivered.

    • One of the few times that I have seen such a con. This person is not to be trusted. I’m not even sure if a single pillow has gone out. I’ve written off the investment but it’s incredible that people don’t do their homework on this product and guy.

  3. DO NOT BUY this pillow or products sold by the creator, Mark Reissi of ‘Reissi Empire’ and ‘Reissi Mall’.
He has failed to deliver the products advertised in the Kickstarter campaign after three months (and counting) despite his ‘promises’ not to be late and has doubled the delivery charges for Worldwide backers after the successful campaign finished without offering a refund so, the pillows are now being held for ransom and ‘Mr Reissi’ is not replying to emails from any of his many business email addresses and he’s moved out of his official business address.

  4. This compagny is a complete scam, I did buy 2 pillows and never received any. Mails not answered and if they do, they just flat out tell you, you will not reseive because we want more money for delivery. The people that did pay extra 29 dollar are after 2 month still waiting. Look at the Kicksterter comments and you see over 200 backers complaining, not because the product is bad, but because they did not reseive the product and because even after paying 79 dollar for a pillow and 29 delivery they keep the products hostage for more money. And if you pay, you only lost more money…..

  5. I ordered a couple of these pillows through Indiegogo.
The folks at Oreous have not responded to any of my messages that I’ve sent by e-mail, through Indiegogo, and through their Facebook page. I was supposed to receive my pillows in October. It’s now mid-November. I’ve simply been left hanging and think I’ve pretty much been robbed.
It seems that I’m not alone.
These might be good pillows, but it seems that they simply aren’t for sale. But somebody will take your money for them anyway.

  6. Pillows were due to be shipped in mid-October which I still have not received. So far no responses to the 4 emails I have sent requesting progress updates. Vague campaign updates stating ‘all orders have been shipped’ numerous times. Checking the comments section of both the Indiegogo and Kickstarter campaigns indicate that most backers have not received their pillows as well including backers who were supposed to receive product in mid-September.

At the moment I am certain that the order will not be fulfilled as this appears to be standard business practice for Mark Reissi. Here is the reviews for his furniture business as well – https://www.productreview.com.au/p/reissi-mall.html

  7. It’s a scam people from kickstarter and Indiegogo are still waiting for the pillow. Some backers have been months. Many many people are complaining about the wait. Been told would have in October. It’s almost January. And most are still waiting. No communication for oreous. Was told it shipped all pillow months ago but still nothing. Save your money it’s a scam

  8. It appears from the comments of some backers, of both the Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns, that this is not a complete scam – some people are receiving their pillows but I and many others still have not received ours. The lack of communication from Oreous is beyond belief, the company has no respect for it’s customers. They don’t provide updates or information on shipping delays, they don’t reply to emails or backer comments. They might have a great product, but if it’s a gamble to see whether you get a product (eventually) or just give away your money, then they surely can’t last long. Oreous get your act together or license your product to a company that can deliver and cares about customers!

  9. I actually FINALLY got this pillow yesterday after months of unanswered emails and waiting- didn’t come in any fancy tube- just a box with no enclosed instructions or information.
Looks ok right now, I’ll sleep on it tonight
Well at least I got it ????????‍♀️

  10. This product is a scam. Mark Reissi is a con artist. Don’t take my word for it – do your googles. There is a trail of disgusted victims on Kickstarter and elsewhere. Reissi’s other ventures (Reissimall and Reissiempire) have failed and customers have been scammed.

    STAY AWAY!

  11. I backed this product on kickstarter back in 2017.
No pillows to date, despite multiple updates claiming that they are finally fulfilling their orders.
In total I was asked to pay freight three times, in addition to the freight charges included in the pledge.
Last month I received a coupon for their new website, oreous.com, which they claim is a new company.
The coupon was valid for four days and did not include freight.
Since I read the e-mail five days late, I contacted oreous.com to reactivate the coupon and asked them to waive the freight.
They reactivated the coupon but insisted on applying $100 of freight.
I have since asked for a refund, which they refuse on grounds that they are a different company than the one I made a purchase agreement with.
They have since stopped responding to my e-mails.

For anyone looking at this product, please consider this a friendly FYI from a disappointed backer.

  12. These pillows are short for us and they are not much different from ordinary pillows and the price of the pillow is very high compared to its quality. I really regret to buy them.
