Since starting this site, I have been able to conduct dozens of mattress reviews from online mattress start-ups to big name retail brands. Below are mattresses that I have personally tested. This can be an overwhelming list. There are a few brands that really stand out including Nest, Winkbed, Luxi and Brentwood Home. Recently, I have developed some proprietary tests and tools to give you even more information about how these mattreses work. Make sure to check out my Best Mattress 2017 list to see which mattress brands are making some noise in the industry.

Just about all of these mattreses are compatible with an adjustable bed. Check out my Adjustable Bed reviews here.

MEMORY FOAM MATTRESSES

This is the largest category of mattresses. Many of the new startups created a mattress in a box made of layers of glued foam with the advent of roll packing machines that could compress the foam into boxes that can be shipped via UPS, FedEx or a similar carrier.

MADE IN AMERICAN MEMORY FOAM MATTRESES

Below are some memory foam mattresses that are made in America and are a great value. One that particularly stands out is the Cocoon Mattress. This is a dense foam mattress with the option for a phase change cover and two different firmness options. It is an excellent value for the price.

INNER SPRING MATTRESSES

These mattresses have inner springs in typically in the form of pocket coils. Some are delivered by a freight carrier since they are not roll packed but you can purchase them online. A growing trend is hybrid mattresses that include both memory foam and coils so that you get contouring and a little bit of bounce too.

MICROCOIL & FOAM MATTRESSES

Microcoils help with contouring and support in a very subtle way. They are becoming more common in foam mattresses as they help the mattress breath and make it a little easier to move around in. Below are mattresses that are primarily foam but have microcoil technology.

INNOVATIVE MATTRESSES

I’m notsure how to classify these mattresses as they use either completely different material than traditional spring and foam mattresses or they are a very new take on them. Definitely check these out as they may be just what you need after a long quest for the best mattress.
