Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+
Amerisleep is a mattress and bedding brand focused on providing the highest quality in every product. Perhaps none of their accessories represent this commitment to comfort as well as the Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ does.
Pros
- Move beyond the remote — smart home compatible and optional mobile app
- Free in-home setup saves shoppers the hassle of assembly
- Wall glide design keeps the nightstand and devices close at hand
Cons
- Relatively affordable but potentially out of budget shoppers’ reach
Amerisleep is a renowned mattress brand known for their range of high-quality mattresses and other assorted bedding products. Instead of relying on a “good, better, best” tiered system that asks shoppers to pay more for top-of-the-line comfort, Amerisleep ensures that every mattress they sell can be someone’s best mattress.
Amerisleep is also dedicated to affordable, eco-friendly mattress materials that provide durable, breathable comfort. They take a similar approach with their adjustable bed, engineering a design beyond what many adjustable beds in similar price ranges offer. The aptly named Adjustable Bed+ is an excellent way to customize and heighten their comfort.
What is an Adjustable Bed?
An adjustable bed’s purpose is described in its name—it’s a bed that adjusts, typically with the simple press of a button on a remote control. The base is essentially a series of panels that can be raised or lowered, though the exact way it operates varies by model.
The head and foot of the mattress can be raised by degrees to decrease pressure on the body, giving owners a far wider range of sleeping positions to consider.
About the Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+
The Adjustable Bed+ is the most modern and luxurious bed frame that Amerisleep offers. Our review examines its design, operation, size, mattress compatibility, prices, warranty, and delivery in full, giving the shoppers the information needed to decide if it’s the right fit for them.
Design
The Amerisleep Adjustable Bed has an all-steel frame with a steel base, legs, and retainer bar. A polyester upholstery cover with a non-slide weave completes the frame’s look, giving it a neutral design that can slip into any bedroom.
The legs of the Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ are broken into multiple segments to allow for different heights. The adjustable frame can be set as low as 9 inches, or owners can add on 3-inch segments to bring its height of 12 or 15 inches.
Headboard brackets are also included with the frame for shoppers who do want to replicate the look of a classic frame without relying on a separate bed frame.
Operation
The Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ features a wide range of motion. Owners can lift the head of the bed by 60 degrees and the foot of the bed by 35 degrees. The motors are whisper quiet, making adjustments barely noticeable in the night. The mattress stays in place as the base rises and falls thanks to a non-skid fabric covering and a foot retainer bar at the end.
What sets the Adjustable Bed+ apart from many other models is its wall glide design. Less sophisticated adjustable beds have the head of the mattress move away from the wall as its raised, putting a sleeper’s nightstand out of reach. With a wall glide design, the head of the bed slides back, moving up against the wall and keeping everything close.
The wireless remote has a sleek and simple design, with three buttons that can each save a favorite position. However, sleepers don’t have to restrict themselves to just the included remote. The Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ is also compatible with Alexa, Google Home or a downloadable mobile app.
Within the adjustable bed are also full-body massagers with different intensity settings. These massagers can be switched on for relief after a long day. Lastly, the underside of the base has LED lighting, allowing sleepers to light up the surrounding floor if they have to get out of bed in the middle of the night.
Mattress Size and Compatibility
The available sizes of the Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ don’t quite match the range of sizes their mattresses come in, but it’s still a wide enough range to suit most shoppers’ needs and budgets:
- The twin XL size adjustable bed is excellent for individuals sleeping alone and seeking to upgrade a smaller bedroom.
- The full size adjustable bed is a step up from the twin XL adjustable bed, giving sleepers more space to sprawl at night.
- The queen size adjustable bed is the smallest size we can recommend for couples who want to share a sleeping area.
- The split king size adjustable bed is the most comfortable option for sleepers who want to share, though its bulk requires a larger master bedroom.
- The California king size adjustable bed is excellent for taller shoppers who want to share a bed and need extra legroom.
All of these options are carefully sized to support a matching mattress while also being able to slip inside the average bed frame. This allows shoppers to pair the base with a favorite frame or change the bed’s overall style.
The Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ can be paired with a memory foam, latex, or hybrid mattress. For an easier shopping experience, Amerisleep lets shoppers bundle on one of five mattresses. Side sleepers can enjoy the softer options, while back and stomach sleepers will appreciate a firmer feel.
Prices
The Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ has extremely competitive prices for all the features it offers.
Size | Price |
Twin XL | $1260 |
Full | $1400 |
Queen | $1400 |
Split King | $2100 |
California King | $2100 |
As we mentioned, you can bundle an Amerisleep mattress with an adjustable bed. Currently, Amerisleep is offering $450 off all their mattresses with an adjustable bed. Lastly, the base’s delivery and in-home setup has a $399 value and is included free of charge.
Warranty
The Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ comes with a 10-year warranty. For the year, Amerisleep will fully cover repairs and replacement parts costs. Then, the adjustable base has a limited warranty until year 5. For the last few years, replacement parts are covered at a prorated cost.
We must note that the base is a final sale item, as is common with adjustable beds. With the warranty, shoppers have protection in case of defects or malfunction. However, there’s little to be done if the bed isn’t to their liking. Still, the Adjustable Bed+ consumer reviews suggest that few shoppers are unhappy with their purchase.
Delivery
Not only does the Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ ship free, but the base also comes with a free in-home setup. After contacting you, the delivery team will arrange an appointment window and set up the adjustable bed.
We must note that the items will ship separately when choosing the bundle with a base and a mattress, and the new mattress may arrive before or after the adjustable base. In-home setup applies only to the adjustable bed.
Why Choose an Adjustable Bed?
Adjustable beds can have highly practical and medically necessary purposes, or they can be used to simply provide the ultimate boost to a sleeper’s comfort. An adjustable bed can be angled to ease joint and back pain and improve blood circulation, among other benefits.
For example, an adjustable bed frame is one of the most effective ways to manage sleep apnea and acid reflux symptoms. When lying down flat, the soft tissues in the throat can obstruct the windpipe—this is the primary cause of obstructive sleep apnea. By raising the head of the adjustable bed and with it the upper torso, gravity acts differently on the body, and these soft tissues are less likely to impede breathing.
Similarly, a sleeper with acid reflux can ensure their stomach contents stay in place and minimize discomfort by raising their upper body. This ensures they won’t wake up with heartburn and other discomfort caused by stomach acid flowing up their esophagus.
Raising the foot of the mattress with an adjustable bed can also provide relief to several medical conditions. Sleepers can often alleviate back pain by raising their knees and taking pressure off the lower back. Symptoms of edema and restless leg syndrome can also be eased by raising the foot of the mattress.
Individuals who have a condition that restricts movement, such as arthritis, can enjoy how an adjustable bed enables them to independently sit up and slide out of bed. The stiffness and pain from arthritis can also be alleviated by
Shoppers can also enjoy the perks of an adjustable bed during the day. Adjustable frames make it more comfortable to sit up and read or watch a TV show or movie. Some higher-end adjustable bed models also include massage features that can ease aches and pains after a long day.
Why Choose the Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+?
- Non-skid fabric and foot retainer bar keep the mattress in place throughout adjustments
- Under-bed lighting makes nighttime excursions simple
- Wall glide design for convenience, keeping everything on the nightstand within reach
- Massagers make it easy to relax and unwind after a long, difficult day
- Three programmable presets make it easy to return to old favorites again and again
- Base can slide into a pre-existing bed frame, and the frame can be set at one of three heights
- Optional headboard brackets for a classic frame look
It’s difficult to go wrong with the Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+, as its design packs a wealth of versatile features into a bargain-priced package. The base is also designed for durability, giving shoppers an excellent return on their dollar by maximizing the base’s expected lifespan.
The Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ truly shows shoppers that you don’t have to overspend to drastically upgrade your comfort. Plus, the Amerisleep brand itself is one of the highest-regarded mattress-in-box companies today, with thousands of satisfied customer reviews attached to their most popular products.
- Rolling wave massagers let a sleeper truly unwind after a long, tiring day with one of three intensities.
- Wall Glide design keeps the nightstand close at hand as the head of the bed is raised.
- Ability to connect to Google Home or Amazon Alexa, keeping owners from having to fiddle with their remotes for adjustments. Instead, they can simply speak the command.
- Downloadable mobile app also lets shoppers control the base with their smart phone.
- Charging ports along the side ensure sleepers never wake up to a phone that needs charging.
- Legs with adjustable heights, letting sleepers go as low as inches or as high as inches when setting up their ideal bed height.
- Bed base easily slips inside a traditional bed frame for a more conventional look.
- Remote has backlit lighting for easy nighttime adjustments. A one-touch button can switch on under-bed lighting for quick, easy trips to the bathroom in the dark.
The Amerisleep Adjustable Bed+ comes with a 10-year warranty. Not only does it ship free, but Amerisleep offers in-home setup at no added charge. Shoppers can choose from a twin XL, full, queen, split king, or California king size base. A queen size base can be purchased for $1400.

If you are in the market for an adjustable bed, you want to make sure that your bed is compatible. Thankfully any mattress that comes roll packed in a box is a perfect candidate but there are some that are more suitable than others. Mattress that are not compatible with an adjustable bed are mattresses that incorporate wires along the side of the coil systems. These types of coil systems are usually found in cheap mattresses because they are easier to make. A good way to tell is to push against the top or bottom corner of the mattress and if you can feel a coil along the edge then it won’t work on an adjustable bed. The reason being is that when the mattress inclines, it will bend the coil and warp the mattress.
Basically just about every memory foam mattress is compatible with an adjustable bed with a few exceptions. With the advent of pocket coils and micro coils, more innerspring mattresses are also compatible. Pocket coils are individually wrapped coils that work independently and do not have a rail system along the edges so they can contour and be roll packed. It’s the same with micro coils which are basically mini pocket coil systems that are often found in memory foam mattresses to provide a bit more breathability.
Here’s a picture of a hybrid mattress with pocket coils and latex on the top. As you can see each spring is wrapped.
Here’s a video illustrating how well a memory foam mattress contours with an adjustable bed. Tempurpedic mattresses are especially well suited for adjustable beds because they use dense foam making the mattress heavier so that it contours better.
Sleep Sherpa’s top picks of best mattresses for an adjustable base.
Best Memory Foam Mattress for and Adjustable Base – Tempurpedic Cloud
The Tempurpedic Cloud is the first Tempurpedic mattress to come in a box and is one of their most affordable models. It has a medium-firm feel and has zero motion transfer. What I like about this mattress is that the foam is very dense so the weight of the mattress sinks into the adjustable base as it articulates. If you are looking for a softer, more budget-friendly option, check out the Idle Gel Foam mattress.

Best Natural Mattress for an Adjustable Bed – Plush Beds Botanical Bliss
If you want an all-natural mattress for your adjustable bed, your best bet is a mattress made with latex. There are many natural mattresses on the market but most of them are made with spring and latex. I would advise against this construction since the coils will absorb most of the vibration if you choose to utilize the massage feature. I am a big fan of Plush Beds all latex mattresses, in particular, the Botanical Bliss. This mattress is made with all-natural latex and will conform well on your adjustable bed and allow you to get the full benefit of the massage feature. Read the full Botanical Bliss Mattress Review Here.
Best Spring Mattress for an Adjustable Base – Brentwood Home Oceano
I don’t normally recommend a mattress with springs if you are going to utilize the massage features of your adjustable bed. However, you should always choose a bet that is most comfortable as you won’t be using the massage features while you sleep. The Brentwood Home Oceano is one of my favorite mattresses overall and it is a great choice for an adjustable bed. This mattress actually has 2 layers of springs but because the mattress is tufted, and it is made with pocket coils, you can still get some benefit from the massage feature. The tufting keeps everything in place while the pocket coils move independently so that your partner won’t be disturbed. This mattress contours very well on an adjustable bed meaning you won’t have to sacrifice comfort for functionality.

Setting up the Leesa Adjustable Base
If you don’t opt in for the white glove delivery, setup is easy. The base itself is heavy, near 150 lbs. so if you have help to move it into your bedroom the rest is simple.
The adjustable bed comes in a box like the one below.
Upon opening the box you will find the base wrapped in plastic to keep it clean.
Once you get it out of the packaging you just flip the base upside down and screw in the legs. The legs can be adjusted for different heights by pushing in the peg then sliding up or down.
You also need to insert a bolt on each side to make is to the two sides don’t move up or down. This can all be found in the included instruction manual.
Overview of the Leesa Adjustable Base
Here’s a video overview of the capabilities of the base. There is no massage feature but it does have a zero gravity button and LED lighting underneath which is great if you have to get out of bed at night and don’t want to turn on the lights.

My Adjustable Base Findings
Overall this is a great looking adjustable bed. It also has a relatively quiet motor so if you need to make adjustments at night you have less chance of waking your partner. The remote is fairly simple and is great for people who want a simple interface and all the standard features.
Here’s a picture of the base by itself. The two white strips towards the foot of the bed are actually little grips called micro-hooks, sort of like velcro that help prevent the mattress from sliding around. You also have the bar at the end of the bed but the grips help prevent the mattress from moving from side to side.
Here’s a picture of the Leesa mattress on the base. But like I said, this will work with most mattresses that come in a box.
If you buy a king size adjustable base, you are actually getting 2 twin xl bases that you put side by side. The advantage is that it is much easier to move into your house and you can operate each side independently. If you go this route you will also want to buy two twin xl mattresses.
Some people don’t like the idea of having two separate mattresses so you can just buy standard king mattress. If you do this you can sync both of the twin xl bases so they work together off one single remote.
Overall this is a great adjustable bed. If you are looking for a solid and reliable adjustable base this is it. It doesn’t have a massage feature or the ability to save your favorite position but if you want that you will pay quite a bit more. I do appreciate that you can raise or lower the height of the bed by adjusting the feet. You can go low profile or make it higher if you are a tall person like me. In the video, I have it at the tallest setting which makes it about 13 inches off the ground, add in the 10-inch Leesa mattress and you are sitting about 23 inches from the ground.
I especially like that this comes with a 1o0 night trial. If you were to buy an adjustable base from Amazon you would only get the standard 3o day return policy and have to ship the base back to Amazon which will mean considerable shipping costs. With the Leesa base, returns are completely free.
Even if you don’t opt for a Leesa mattress, their adjustable bed should be top of mind when looking to outfit your bedroom.

Nectar offers an adjustable bed frame that will work with you Nectar mattress or any mattress that comes in a box. This bed frame is a really good value. A queen size retails for $799. In this review, we will break down what you get for the money and how it stacks up against the other adjustable beds on the market. While adjustable beds seem complicated, they aren’t. In fact, many of them are made by just a handful of manufacturers so what it really comes down to is what features you want for the best price.
Overview of the Nectar Adjustable Bed
Here’s a video overview of how the bed works and some of its main features. This base has a super quiet motor so it won’t wake your partner if you adjust it while they are sleeping. It is super easy to set up too.

It will come in a box like this.
How Much Does the Nectar Bed Cost?
Below are the current prices of the bed. I often get asked where to buy a twin size adjustable bed but I have yet to find one. Instead, they start at twin xl. Same with a California king adjustable bed, these aren’t common and I don’t know who makes them which is why I always recommend a regular king over a cal king. To make a king size adjustable you put two twin xls next to each other.
Twin XL $649

Queen $799
King $1,199
How to Setup your Adjustable
Setting this adjustable bed is a breeze it comes in a box the size of the bed so when you get it out of the box it is just about ready to go. All you need to do is attach the motor to the base, plug the cables to the power supply, screw in the bottom legs, flip it over and plug it in.
Here’s a picture of what it looks like right out of the box. As you can see there aren’t that many parts.
All the plugs are color coded so it’s easy to get everything plugged in quickly without mistakes.
Overview of the Nectar Adjustable Bed

This bed comes with the following features standard:
Adjustable Head and Foot
You can raise or lower the bed to your preferred setting. If you go with the split king you can adjust either side independently. If for instance you have acid reflux and want to sleep with your back elevated you can do that while your partner lies flat. In this case, I strongly recommend buying two twin xl mattresses. You can buy the same brand or different brands depending on preference.
3 Zone Massage
Want to massage your back and not your legs? This bed can do that. The gentle vibrations of this bed make help lull you into a relaxed state you help you fall asleep faster. If you make the massage a nightly routine before bed, your body will associate the massage with sleep.
Zero Gravity Setting
A zero gravity position puts the least amount of stress on your body and is a great sleeping position.
Programmable Memory
Over time you will find that perfect spot for sleeping or watching tv. Once you do, the remote has a programmable memory where you can save your position and get back to it with the press of a button. This turns your bed into a true piece of useful furniture so you don’t have to pile up and move pillows around.
Here’s a picture of the remote you get.
USB Plugs
Although it’s not recommended you know it’s hard to leave your phone out of your bed. Thankfully, this bed also has USB ports built in so you can charge your phone and go on a Netflix binge without draining your battery. This also creates a cleaner aesthetic and won’t clutter your nightstand.

No need to schedule and wait for a delivery window. It also doesn’t break the budget, a queen size currently retails for $1,499.
Overview of the Yaasa Adjustable Bed
Here’s a quick video overview of the adjustable bed. In the video I am sitting on the medium soft version of the Yaasa mattress and on the nightstand are some citrus-scented candles that they also make.
How Much Does It Cost?
Here are the current prices on the adjustable bed.
Queen $1,499
King $$1,799
Setup of the Yaasa Adjustable Base
The Yaasa Adjustable Base is easy to setup and is extremely sturdy. You will receive 2 boxes as seen below.
As you can see, everything is neatly packed so nothing gets banged around during delivery.
There are great instructions that come with the bed. I went straight to the quick start guide and it worked great. I opened the long box which contains the rails and sets those up first.
The frame connects easily without screws just turn the knob to secure each end.
After this you can install the legs which bolt underneath the frame. It’s important to remember that you get a cardboard box to help you prop up the frame to put the legs in.
After the frame is fully put together you can start adding the planks which screw in from the top. Before adding all the planks plug in all the power supplies to the correct ports, just make sure not to plug it into an outlet yet.
Here’s what it looks like all put together.
The final step is installing the USB ports. These plug into the side rails to draw power and snap underneath the middle board on each side.
The USB cord goes into a channel below the wood plank so that the plank can sit flush.
My Yaasa Bed Experience
Here’s the bed in action. It comes with a wireless remote that is already paired to the bed. The remote also allows you to program your favorite position.
Here’s a picture of the Yaasa mattress in the zero gravity setting. If you were to lay on it, it would obviously contour more. Another important feature of this bed is that it always stays close to the wall. Cheaper adjustable beds will not slide up from the bottom this means that you are pushed away from the wall and your nightstand which makes it harder to access things like your books, glasses, phone lamp and alarm clock.
My Yaasa Adjustable Bed Recommendation
This is one of the most durable and well made adjustable beds I have used. Not only at this price point but at any price point. It is also the most aesthetically pleasing. It will really give your bedroom a more modern feel. This bed does not have a massage feature but I find that most people don’t use massage anyway.

Pragma Bed Pragmatic Adjustable Bed Frame
Recently updated on December 15th, 2017 at 10:39 am
Pragma Bed makes standard and adjustable bed frames. I was recently given the Pragmatic Ajdustable Bed to review. It is the most inexpensive adjustable beds I have come across. It is a no frill adjustable base that requires a litte more assembly than a traditional adjustable bed but is fairly straight forward and can be put together from start to finish in about an hour.
Overview of the Pragmatic Adjustable Bed
A queen size Pragmatic Ajdustable Bed can be purchased on Amazon for $391.71, as of this writing.
This bed also qualifies for Amazon Prime shipping so you get it fast and shipping is free. Below is a video that shows the bed in action. It has a relatively quiet motor. The sides work in tandem. The bed shown below is a queen size.
Specifications of the Adjustable Bed
Here’s the specs of the Pramatic Bed according to Amazon:
- The Pragmatic Adjustable Bed Frame provides effortless adjustment of head and foot sections to full range of positions
- Very quiet DC motor
- Powder-coated steel frame with stylish gray finish
- Twin/TwinXL have a 300 lbs. lift capacity of evenly distributed weight
- Full/Queen/King/California King have a 600 lbs. lift capacity of evenly distributed weight
- 134 lbs. (queen size)
- 80x60x14 inches
- No tools required, all assembly components included
- Capped feet prevent damage to hard floors
- Recessed wire supports protect your mattress
- Folding design for quick setup and storage
- 13″ of underbed storage space
- 80° articulation at head and 30° at foot
Findings
This adjustable bed takes a little more time to setup than the higher priced models. This keeps prices low though and setup really isn’t all that difficult to asemble.
Here’s a picture of the box it comes in. As you can see it is compact but still heavy weighing 134 lbs. Theh box is a little beat up but it is well packaged and I didn’t find any scratches or dents on the bed itself.
Here’s a picture of the motors on the Pragmatic.
My Pragmatic Bed Recommendation
If you’re looking for a no frills adjustable bed, this is an excellent choice. The adjustable bed currently has 36 reviews on Amazon with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5
Here’s a picture of the frame after it has been assembled.
Below is another picture with a memory foam mattress on the Pragmatic bed. Many inner spring mattresses now work on adjustable beds as well because they have pocket coils. A good rule of thumb is that if your mattress ships in a box it will work on an adjustable base.
Conclusion
If you don’t need massage or lighting under the bed, this bed will save you lots of money. Most people use these adjustable beds because of back issues or acid reflux where they need to be elevated somewhat during the night. This is a great solution for that problem without spending a lot of money.

Reverie 9T Adjustable Foundation Review

The Reverie 9T is THE most advanced adjustable base on the market. I can’t speak highly enough of Reverie as a company. Their products are very well built and all made in the USA. They have a team of engineers that are dedicated to improving and innovating adjustable bases.
I recently received a Reverie 9T for the Sleep Sherpa Showroom. I still use the previous model the 8T in my house and after over a year of use it still works like new. Below is a video overview of the 9T and a demo of it in action. What you see in the video is the Dream Supreme II Hybrid Sleep System.
The Dream Supreme hybrid mattress has both latex and foam. This creates a more conforming feel than the all latex version of their mattress. You still get the dream cells to configure however you want but it just feels softer and you get more hug out of the mattress. I prefer this version over the previous because of the overall benefits of foam.
Here are the specification of the hybrid mattress:
- Patented 6” DreamCell™ foam springs allow for dual firmness. Firmness level can be readjusted by rearranging foam springs. No motion transfer.
- Dream Supreme II Hybrid comfort layer features 1” OEKO-TEX® certified, graphite-infused Talalay latex with 2” CertiPUR-US® luxe memory foam underneath.
- Cashmere-blend woven cover finished with Feran Ice® wicks away moisture. Removable cover. Dry clean or spot clean only.
- Mattress construction facilitates natural airflow for maximum breathability and temperature regulation.
- 12” mattress height.
- OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 latex comfort layer and DreamCell foam springs. Naturally hypoallergenic and dust mite resistant.
- CertiPUR-US® certified memory foam and RevTech™ foam. No VOCs or other harmful substances.
- Intertek® Quality Performance Mark. Exceeds third-party tests for industry-leading durability and craftsmanship.
- Available in the DreamTop™ (split head design) option.

Findings
I have a split king size Reverie 9T. It is basically two twin xl bases that are placed together. The advantage of having it split is that each side can move independently. So, if one person wants to read, sleep or watch TV on an incline, the other person can lay flat and sleep.
In the picture below you can see towards the bottom where there is a flap on the base that extends upwards for lumbar support. This can completely transform the feel of a mattress, even a worn out one.
What makes the 9T a step up from previous versions is that when you go into zero gravity mode, you get better pressure relief. I also like the faux wood paneling along the side of the base. There’s really no need to encase the base in a bed frame. You can buy a headboard to go with the base as the 9T comes with a headboard adapter kit to complete the look.
The dream supreme hybrid mattress is one piece on the bottom and split at the top so that you feel more connected to your partner while sleeping. Reverie makes special sheets that will fit this type of mattress. As you can see one side is in the zero gravity position while the other is flat.
All mattresses that come in a box will work on an adjustable base which is almost all the mattresses I have reviewed on this site. Adjustable bases just aren’t for old people with health issues anymore. Bedrooms are starting to become a secondary office and being able to turn your bed into a zero gravity massage chair is a welcome upgrade, especially for people that may live in a house with no office.
Adjustable bases transform your bed into a very versatile piece of furniture that you will enjoy for years.
The split king Reverie 9T retails from $3,599. You can purchase one online through Nest Bedding.
